How to Set Up IPTV on Android TV and Google TV

Have these ready first

• A Google account already linked to the box or TV
• The three King IPTV login fields from your email (a free 24-hour trial login works too)
• Your phone, for typing through the Google TV app remote
• A network cable when there is a port, otherwise strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi

Android TV and Google TV setup in 8 steps

1. Install pending system updates

   Go to Settings > System > About > System update and accept anything waiting. On an Nvidia Shield the route is Settings > Device Preferences > About > System upgrade. A half-finished update can interrupt the first playlist load, so do this first.

2. Open the app store

   On Google TV, select the Apps tab along the top of the home screen, then Search for apps. Older Android TV menus and the Shield have a Google Play Store tile in the apps row instead. Pressing the microphone button and saying "TiviMate" also works.

3. Install TiviMate IPTV Player

   Choose TiviMate IPTV Player from Armobsoft FZE and press Install. Skip TiviMate Companion, a phone app for buying Premium, not the player.

4. Pick Xtream Codes as the source

   Launch TiviMate, press Add playlist and choose Xtream Codes from the source types. It brings live channels, films, series and the guide in one go. Use the M3U option only if our team sends you a playlist link.

5. Type the three login fields

   Fill Server address, Username and Password. The server line must start with http:// and end with the port number when your email shows one. Clicking letters with a remote is slow, so open the remote in the Google TV app on your phone and type with its keyboard. Press Next.

6. Name the playlist and finish

   A summary lists how many channels, movies and series were found. Press Next, call the playlist King IPTV, and press Done. The grid guide opens on channel one.

7. Let the EPG fill in

   Programme titles appear row by row while the guide downloads, normally inside two minutes. Check that the current show on a Canadian news channel matches the clock. Still blank after five minutes? See the fixes below.

8. Put TiviMate on the home row

   On Google TV, open Apps, highlight TiviMate, hold the select button and choose Add to favourites or Move; wording varies a little between brands. On Android TV the same long press offers Move. Live TV is then one click from waking the TV.

Which Android TV device handles IPTV best?

Any current Google TV device plays King IPTV well; storage and a wired port make the difference.

Other IPTV apps that run on Google TV

Televizo is the best second choice from Google Play: free, light, and it reads Xtream Codes and M3U. IPTV Smarters Pro has been removed from Google Play more than once, and look-alike apps with similar names fill the gap, so read the developer name before installing anything with "Smarters" in the title. To add an app that is not in Google Play, turn on developer mode by clicking Settings > System > About > Android TV OS build 7 times, then allow Downloader under Settings > Apps > Security & restrictions > Unknown sources. Google began requiring verified developers for apps installed this way on 30 September 2026 in four countries, with a worldwide rollout planned for 2027, so Google Play stays the safer route.

Fixing login, guide and buffering problems

• Login refused. A missing http://, an extra space or a wrong capital letter causes most failures. If the details are perfect, your trial may have ended; our Live Chat can check in seconds.
• Guide shifted by hours. Set Settings > System > Date & time to automatic. A wrong clock or time zone pushes every programme out of place. More causes are in the EPG troubleshooting guide.
• Stutter during hockey. Plug in a cable, or move the device out from behind the TV. Chromecast owners can add a Google Ethernet power adapter.
• App closes by itself. Usually low storage. Go to Settings > Apps > See all apps > TiviMate > Clear cache, and uninstall apps you never open.

TiviMate Premium, parental PIN and app updates

TiviMate Premium is optional: it adds recording, extra playlists and favourites groups, and you buy it from the developer in the TiviMate Companion phone app, yearly or once for life. One Premium account covers several devices, and King IPTV takes no part in that payment. For children, set a parental control PIN in TiviMate's settings and lock the groups you choose. Google Play keeps the player current when auto-update is on.
