King IPTV on Android phone
Android Phone and Tablet IPTV: Install, Cast and Save Data
A phone is the quickest screen to set up, because you type with your thumbs instead of a remote. Here is the Google Play route, the casting trick and the data maths.
- Roughly 8 minutes start to finish
- Same steps for trial and paid logins
- Written for non-technical people

Android phone and tablet IPTV setup is simple: get a player from Google Play, such as GSE Smart IPTV or IPTVX, and add the Xtream Codes details from your King IPTV email. About 8 minutes later you are watching. Two well-known names behave differently on phones. IPTV Smarters Pro suits a touchscreen nicely but has been missing from Google Play for years, and TiviMate states that it is built for TV remotes, not phones. Your plan sets how many devices stream together, from 1 up to 5.
Have these ready first
- An Android phone or tablet with the Google Play Store (Huawei models without Google services cannot use it)
- Your King IPTV Xtream Codes details or M3U link, from an order or the free 24-hour trial
- A few hundred MB of free storage for the app and its cached lists
- Home Wi-Fi, or a mobile plan with enough data for live video
- For casting: a Chromecast, Google TV Streamer or a TV with Chromecast built in, on the same Wi-Fi
Getting King IPTV running on your Android phone
We use the free GSE Smart IPTV because it is in Google Play and has a Cast button.
Find GSE Smart IPTV in the Play Store
Open Play Store, tap the search bar and type GSE Smart IPTV. The free app is published by droidvision; a paid edition called GSE SMART IPTV PRO also exists. Skip anything from other publishers with a similar icon.
Tap Install, then Open
On Android 13 and newer the app may ask to send notifications; Don’t allow is fine.
Open the Xtream-Codes API section
Tap the three-line menu in the top-left corner and choose Xtream-Codes API. Then tap the round + button in the bottom-right corner to start a new account.
Fill in the four boxes from your email
Name it "King IPTV". In the server field paste the full address from the email, starting with
http://and ending with the port number. Then type the username and password. Watch your keyboard: Android likes to capitalize the first letter, which breaks the login.Switch on automatic EPG, then tap Login
Turn on the auto-update EPG option so the TV guide downloads with the channels. Tap Login. Your account now appears in the list; tap it to open it.
Choose Live TV and let the groups load
Live channels, movies and series show as separate sections; the first opening can take a minute. Tap a group, then a channel, and turn the phone sideways.
Build a short favourites list
Scrolling 50,000+ channels with a thumb gets old fast. Long-press the channels you watch most and add them to favourites.
Test the Cast button
Start a channel, tap the Cast icon (a rectangle with Wi-Fi waves) and choose your Chromecast or Google TV. If the picture appears on the TV, you are ready for game night.
How do I cast IPTV from my phone to the TV?
Use the player’s Cast button if it has one: with Google Cast, the TV device pulls the stream straight from our servers and the phone just acts as a remote.
When a player has no Cast icon, mirror the whole screen instead:
- Pixel and most Android phones: swipe down twice and tap the Screen Cast or Cast tile in Quick Settings.
- Samsung Galaxy: use the Smart View tile and pick your TV.
- Google Home app: tap your TV device, then Cast my screen, where the option is offered.
Mirroring keeps your screen on and can stutter. If you cast nightly, a TV app is better: see our Android TV and Google TV guide.
How much mobile data does IPTV use?
Live IPTV uses roughly 1 GB an hour in standard definition, 2 to 3 GB in Full HD and 7 GB or more in 4K. Those ranges sit close to what Netflix publishes for its own quality levels, but live TV channels often use a higher bitrate, so treat them as a floor.
| Picture quality | Per hour | A 3-hour hockey game |
|---|---|---|
| SD (about 480p) | About 0.7 to 1 GB | About 2 to 3 GB |
| HD (720p) | About 1.5 to 2 GB | About 4.5 to 6 GB |
| Full HD (1080p) | About 2.5 to 3.5 GB | About 7.5 to 10 GB |
| 4K | 7 GB or more | 20 GB or more |
Many Canadian "unlimited" mobile plans slow you down sharply once the high-speed allowance runs out, often to around 512 kbps, which is too slow for live video. On the road, pick SD versions of channels and set a data warning under Settings > Network & internet (Samsung: Connections > Data usage). If home internet is also capped, read our internet speed guide for Canada first.
How to stop IPTV from draining your battery
The screen uses the most power, so dim it first.
- Prefer Wi-Fi to 5G or LTE; a weak cell signal makes the radio work harder.
- Cast long events; with Google Cast the phone mostly idles.
- Remove a thick case if you charge and stream together, because heat makes Android lower the quality and the charging speed.
- If the stream stops whenever the screen turns off, open Settings > Apps, pick the player, tap Battery and choose Unrestricted.
What about IPTV Smarters Pro and TiviMate on a phone?
IPTV Smarters Pro works well with touch, but Google removed it from the Play Store after a Spanish court order at the end of 2022, and it is still absent. Apps in Google Play with similar names come from other developers. Installing the real one means allowing Install unknown apps for your browser, so only use a download source you trust; ask us in Live Chat and read our IPTV Smarters Pro guide.
Android phone IPTV questions
Can I watch King IPTV on my phone and my TV at the same time?
Yes, with a plan that has two or more screens. Each device playing at once uses one screen. A 2-screen month costs $28 CAD and a 2-screen year costs $128 CAD. On a 1-screen plan, starting the phone stream stops the TV stream. Plans are listed on the King IPTV subscription page.
Why is IPTV Smarters Pro not in the Google Play Store?
Google pulled it after a court in Madrid ordered the removal in December 2022, following a complaint from the Spanish football league. The developer’s player is still distributed as an APK file outside the store. Similar-looking apps in Google Play are made by other companies, so read the developer name carefully.
Does IPTV work on mobile data in Canada?
It does on LTE and 5G when the signal holds about 5 to 10 Mbps steadily. Data is the real limit: one Full HD game can use 7 GB or more. In rural areas with weak coverage, Wi-Fi at home is the better plan, and for travel pick SD feeds.
Does casting use my phone’s data?
With the Cast button, no: the Chromecast or Google TV downloads the stream over home Wi-Fi and the phone only sends commands. Screen mirroring is different: the phone plays the video and forwards it, using its own connection and battery the whole time.
Can I try King IPTV on my phone for free?
Yes. Ask for the 24-hour free trial, enter the trial details in GSE Smart IPTV and test channels, movies and casting before you pay. There is one trial per household and no payment details are needed.
