King IPTV on MAG & Formuler

MAG Box and Formuler IPTV Setup with a Portal URL and MAC Address

These boxes log in with a hardware ID instead of a password. Send us that ID, type one web address, and the channels appear.

  • Roughly 15 minutes start to finish
  • Same steps for trial and paid logins

MAG Box & Formuler IPTV setup guide: install King IPTV step by step

MAG and Formuler boxes usually join IPTV through a portal URL tied to the box’s MAC address, not a username and password. You send King IPTV the MAC printed on the label under the box, we register it, and you type the portal URL we send back into the box. Infomir MAG models use only this method. A Formuler running MyTVOnline 3 can also sign in with an Xtream Codes login. Allow about 15 minutes, plus a short wait while we register the MAC during support hours (every day from 9 a.m. to midnight Eastern).

Have these ready first

  • An Infomir MAG box (such as the 520, 524, 540 or 544 series) or a Formuler Z-series box
  • The MAC address from the sticker under the box, or a clear photo of that sticker
  • A King IPTV plan or the free 24-hour trial, with "MAG / portal" requested as the login type
  • An Ethernet cable to the router; only "w" models such as the MAG 524w3 have built-in Wi-Fi
  • The box remote, with fresh batteries

Registering the box and entering the portal

Steps 1, 2 and 9 apply to both brands; 3 to 5 are MAG only, 6 to 8 Formuler only.

  1. Read the MAC address off the box

Turn the box over and find the MAC label: six pairs of characters, such as 00:1A:79:xx:xx:xx. A MAG also lists it under Settings > System settings > Device info. Formuler shows its MAC on the sticker and on the portal connection screen in MyTVOnline 3.

  2. Send the MAC to King IPTV

Paste it into Live Chat or your order notes; a sticker photo avoids 0/O and 8/B mix-ups. We register the box and reply with your portal URL, normally within 15 to 30 minutes during support hours.

  3. MAG: open Servers, then Portals

Press the Setup button on the remote, or go to Settings > System settings. Choose Servers, then Portals. You will see fields for Portal 1 and Portal 2.

  4. MAG: fill in Portal 1 name and Portal 1 URL

Type "King IPTV" as Portal 1 name. In Portal 1 URL enter the address from our reply character by character, including http://, the port and the ending (often /c/). Press OK on the remote to save.

  5. MAG: restart the portal

Back in System settings, pick Restart portal, or unplug the box for ten seconds. The King IPTV portal should then load.

  6. Formuler: open Content Sources in MyTVOnline 3

Start MyTVOnline 3, open Menu > Content Manager > Content Sources and choose Add Portal. Labels shift slightly between firmware versions.

  7. Formuler: add the portal with the MAC method

Type a Portal Nickname such as "King IPTV" and paste the Portal URL we sent. Leave the username and password login off, since the MAC identifies the box. Select Connect.

  8. Formuler alternative: sign in with Xtream Codes

Rather skip MAC registration? Add a portal as above, switch the login on, and enter the server URL, username and password from your email. That login can later move to another device.

  9. Check channels, guide and clock

Play a channel, then open the guide. Listings hours away from real time mean the clock or time zone is wrong (fix below). If an older MAG 254 browses slowly, ask us for English Channels Only.

What to do when the portal does not load

A portal that will not load usually means a URL typo or a MAC not registered yet.

  1. Open Servers > Portals again and compare the URL with our message: every slash, colon and number.
  2. Confirm we replied that the MAC is active. Before that, no URL will work.
  3. Test the network: on a MAG, System settings > Network should show Ethernet set to automatic (DHCP) with an address.

Infomir’s system settings documentation maps every menu on Linux MAG models.

Why does my box say STB blocked?

"STB blocked" means the server reached the box but refuses its MAC address. The usual reasons:

  • The MAC sent to us differs from the one in Device info, often a single wrong character.
  • A Wi-Fi address was sent instead of the main MAC on the sticker.
  • The plan or trial has ended. Renew with "Extend subscription" at checkout to keep the same MAC.

Send a photo of the sticker and of the Device info screen in Live Chat and we compare them with what is registered.

Fixing the clock, time zone and TV guide on MAG and Formuler

A wrong clock pushes the guide off by hours and breaks catch-up, so set the time zone where you live. On a MAG, go to System settings > Advanced settings > Time zone; the time server is under Servers > General > NTP server, and the default normally works. On a Formuler, open the Android settings, choose Date & time and turn on network time.

Saskatchewan catches people out: choosing Winnipeg puts the guide an hour off half the year. See also our EPG troubleshooting article.

MAG or Formuler: which login method should you use?

On a MAG, the portal and MAC are the only way in. On a Formuler, both work: the MAC portal is quick to type, while Xtream Codes is easier if you might change boxes or run the login in a TiviMate setup later. Formuler’s own help article on MyTVOnline portals covers MAC, Xtream and M3U types.

MAG & Formuler IPTV questions

Where do I find the MAC address on a MAG box?

It is printed on the label under the box and starts with 00:1A:79. You can also open Settings, then System settings, then Device info, where it is listed as the MAC address. Send us that exact value, not a Wi-Fi address from your router.

Can two boxes share one MAC registration?

No. Each portal login belongs to one MAC address, so two MAG boxes need two registrations and a plan with at least 2 screens. A 2-screen month costs $28 CAD. Send us both MAC addresses and we register them on the same account. See the plans page for all screen options.

How long does MAC registration take?

Usually 15 to 30 minutes after we receive the MAC and your payment, during support hours (every day from 9 a.m. to midnight Eastern). For the free trial, include the MAC in your request and we set up the portal login instead of a username and password.

Does a MAG box play 4K channels?

Recent Infomir models such as the MAG 520, 524, 540 and 544 decode 4K. Older Full HD boxes like the MAG 254 and 256 play HD feeds only. For 4K, also plan on a wired connection of 25 Mbps or more, and pick the 4K version of a channel where one exists.

What happens if I replace my MAG or Formuler?

Send us the new box’s MAC in Live Chat and we move your subscription onto it, remaining time included. The old box then stops working on our portal. On a Formuler signed in by Xtream Codes, simply enter the same login on the new box, with nothing to register.
